The Nation­al Puer­to Rican Day Parade is a New York tra­di­tion that cel­e­brates the con­tri­bu­tions of the Puer­to Rican peo­ple to the his­to­ry of New York City and the Unit­ed States.

The Nation­al Puer­to Rican Day Parade start­ed in 1995; which con­tin­ued the tra­di­tionof the Puer­to Rican Day Parade in New York City which began in 1958.  The parade fea­tures floats, singing, danc­ing and march­ing.  Last year there were over 100 thou­sand marchers and 3 mil­lion spec­ta­tors along the parade route.
